Commercial Lender
Full-Time  

General Summary:
Responsible for servicing and assisting with the growth of a profitable business client base.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Originate and underwrite commercial loans within credit union policies.  Prepare participation arrangements as needed.  Work with SBA and other government agencies as appropriate. 
  2. Responsible for creation and retention of all necessary documents and reports related to business banking.
  3. Provide reports, statistics, and analyses to department manager as needed.
  4. Responsible for compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements as well as with requirements that apply to specific business banking programs or vendors.
  5. Maintain current knowledge of general market and economic conditions relating to business lending.
  6. Maintain awareness of competitors' rates, fees, terms, and programs relating to business lending.
  7. Represent credit union in various business, trade, civic, charity, and social organizations to support community and provide positive public relations.
  8. Call on new and existing members to develop new relationships that will increase the profitability within the credit union.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of business loan policy, credit granting criteria, financial analysis, proper documentation, etc.
  2. Knowledge of SBA lending.
  3. Knowledge and ability to use intermediate math (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
  4. Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  5. Ability to travel within membership area to see business clients and attend local/regional educational seminars.
  6. Ability to be flexible, prioritize, organize and multi-task.
  7. Ability to be a professional with well-developed interpersonal skills essential for carrying out business banking functions, client relationships, and for projecting a positive image as representative of the credit union.

Education and Experience:
This position requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field and five years experience in lending at a financial institution.  A proven track record of business development and successful portfolio management is preferred.

Account Recovery Clerk
Full-Time  

Location: Financial Center

General Summary:  Responsible for clerical work of collections department including but not limited to filing, drafting letters, completing forms, adding notes to accounts on collection system and mainframe system.  Clerk will also have member interaction in the recovery of funds owed but this will not be primary focus of position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Work in a team environment with the department in striving to meet department goals, realizing that all team members share in the process. 
  2. Process transactions including payments, corrections and reversals, cut checks for levies and other related transactions.
  3. Process incoming returned checks and follow up on collection activities of these.
  4. Research payroll deductions, stops, starts, and changes as they may affect the status of a loan repayment.
  5. Assist in document preparation for court related items such as small claims documents, tax levies, right to cure forms, proof of claims, reaffirmations, etc. 
  6. Request refunds of premiums for insurance related items.
  7. Maintain accurate and organized collection files. 
  8. Advise senior staff of hearings.
  9. Help in the control of department expenses including costs for disposal of collateral, legal fees, and other items as needed.
  10. Assist payment specialist in telephoning members regarding amounts owed to the Credit Union.
  11. Provide accurate spreadsheet work for monthly and quarterly reports for management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of the credit union’s collection policies and procedures. 
  2. Knowledge of various loan related insurance/warranty/collateral protection products.
  3. Ability to use intermediate math skills (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
  4. Skilled in Microsoft Office applications especially in Excel and Word.
  5. Ability to attend appropriate local/regional educational seminars.
  6. Ability to be flexible, prioritize, organize and multi-task.
  7. Ability to drive common vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  8. Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  9. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.  This position requires independent, logical thinking skills with the ability to be compassionate and separate one-self from the job.

Education and Experience:
This position requires a high school education.  Previous work experience in a loan servicing or collection department is preferred.  Financial institution background is preferred.

Sales Representative
Full TIME  

General Summary:  With a strong sales orientation, provides quality service to members with new loan applications, cross-selling appropriate products and features, and following up with members via outbound emails and phone calls to actively promote the funding/closing of approved loans. The sales team is responsible to handle new member accounts..

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge and ability to use intermediate math skills (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, loan payment, debt ratio, loan-to-value etc.).
  2. Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  3. Skilled with telephone mannerisms.
  4. Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  5. Ability to attend appropriate local/regional educational seminars.
  6. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment required.
  7. Ability to be flexible, prioritize, organize and multi-task.
  8. Excellent sales, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required.

Education and Experience:
This position requires a high school education. Strong, proven sales skills are required. Previous call center experience desired.
