Kohler Credit Union Donates Homes for Local Fire Department Training

KOHLER, WI – Kohler Credit Union donated 2 homes to the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department for training opportunities. Habitat for Humanity was also invited into the homes to restore what they can for their initiatives and future projects. The houses, located on the corner of County Highways O and Y, will then be destroyed to make room for Kohler Credit Union’s new corporate headquarters.

The training exercises will help the fire department conduct practice skills in search and rescue, ventilation and fire extinguishment. A whole-house controlled burn will follow. “We are very proud of our local fire departments and thankful for the service they provide to our community,” said Laura Gabrielse, senior vice president of communications and community development. “The credit union is honored to be able to provide them with the opportunity to practice new techniques, further develop their skills and ultimately improve public safety in our community.”

Kohler Credit Union is a $420 million not-for-profit, financial cooperative, owned and governed by its members. Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in Sheboygan, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington or Waukesha County; as well as their immediate family members and associations or organizations.
