Career choice roller coaster
This blog post is geared to younger kids in 1st – 5th grade. It’s a great starting for when children begin talking about what they want to be when they grow up! After reviewing the comic, some great questions to ask kids include:
- What is a job that you would like to have someday?
- How can you tell if a job is a good match for you?
Choosing our careers is a mix of income, skill and passion. Each of these areas are great talking points with children. You can take time to explain what each means and help them discover skills they may not know they have!
Character 1: Guys, Guys! I finally found my Dream Job!
Character 2: Nice!
Character 1: I'm going to be a Roller-Coster Tester!
Character 3: Does it pay well?
Character 1: I don't think so...
Character 4: Does it use your talents?
Character 1: Not really...
Character 5: Does it make the world a better place?
Character 1: It WOULD be fun...
Character 5: Fun enought to do every day until you're an old grandpa?
Character 1: HMM...When you put it that way probably not.
Character 1: There's a lot more to a DREAM JOB than I thought!
Character 3: Thinking about it this way will help your dream job become reality!
